About This Site

Knox County records sit in more than one office. The Sheriff's roster and app address current county custody, city police departments hold their own arrest records, courts show later case events, and Illinois Department of Corrections has a separate state-custody search. This private reference site brings those paths, contacts, and limits together. It hosts no booking-photo gallery and does not hold official records.

What This Reference Site Does

Illinois makes much arrest and booking information available through public channels, but the record is divided by custody stage. The Knox County Sheriff operates the county jail and sends roster users to its mobile app. Galesburg, Abingdon, and Knoxville police may hold their own arrest reports. The Circuit Clerk and court system record hearings and dispositions. IDOC publishes information about people in its own state custody, while FOIA requests reach records that are not shown online.

We bring those official paths together in plain language. The pages explain what a booking record can contain, which source answers a current custody question, how to request a historical record, and why a booking photo is not a verdict. No mugshot gallery is hosted here, and no booking image is reassembled from news or third-party pages.

What the Pages Point Toward

The main pages are organized by the question a reader is trying to answer:

  • The county record page covers the Sheriff app roster, booking fields, FOIA requests, court paths, state custody, and correction options.
  • The Most Wanted page explains the absence of a verified live list, safe tip channels, and the limits of a warrant inquiry.
  • The Crime News & Mugshots page maps Galesburg, county, radio, television, and secondary coverage.
  • City pages distinguish local police records from the shared Knox County Jail booking path for Galesburg, Abingdon, and Knoxville.
  • Records-request explanations describe the information to include, the supported Illinois response framework, and the need to verify current agency contacts.

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference site. It is not connected with the Illinois Department of Corrections, the Knox County Sheriff's Office, the Knox County Jail, any city police department, or another government agency. We cannot release a person, confirm custody, retrieve an official file on demand, or speak for an agency.

  • We cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone in custody.
  • We cannot post bond, schedule a visit, or send money for another person.
  • We cannot provide legal advice or decide what a court record means.
  • We cannot guarantee that an agency phone number, fee, address, app feature, or office hour has not changed.

Only the responsible Sheriff, police, jail, court, or corrections office can confirm its own custody status, charge record, release, or disposition. Use these pages to locate the right official channel, then verify the answer there.

Search-Partner Disclosure

Some pages contain search boxes or links supplied by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, results, and data practices. If a tool leads to a paid signup, this site may receive a referral fee. That fee helps support the reference pages and does not give us control over the provider or its records. Official agencies remain the proper source for custody, booking, and court confirmation.
